New York City, NY (September 2023) - Citrin Cooperman is proud to welcome Partner Jeffrey Kovacs (Kovacs) as President of Citrin Cooperman & Company, LLP (CC&C). Appointed by the board of CC&C, Kovacs, who joined through the acquisition of Berdon LLP, brings more than 35 years of experience to the role, including a considerable career focus in the technology and life sciences landscape. CC&C, which operates as a separate legal entity with Citrin Cooperman Advisory LLC in an alternative practice structure, provides audit and attest solutions under the Citrin Cooperman brand.

Kovacs takes on the role of President from Patricia Cummings who recently moved full-time to the position of Chief Risk Officer of Citrin Cooperman Advisors LLC, working to identify, monitor, and mitigate key risks facing the organization.
Over his extensive professional career, Kovacs has served in roles of increasing complexity and responsibility at several major national accounting and consulting firms. In addition to technology and life sciences, his broad industry experience encompasses various business sectors, including real estate and construction, manufacturing, wholesale, and distribution, and not-for-profit. As a recognized thought leader, Kovacs frequently speaks at various technology and start-up events and has developed a considerable body of management training courses and thought leadership pieces. He received the 40 Under 40 award from Columbus Business First and was recognized among the Notable Leaders in Accounting and Consulting by Crain’s New York Business. Kovacs is licensed as a certified public accountant in New York and Pennsylvania and holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation.
