Experience

Michael is a director at Citrin Cooperman and is based out of the firm’s Owings Mills, MD office. He has over 20 years of experience in both public and private industry accounting. Michael is a CPA providing audit readiness, process improvement, due diligence, and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries, including the professional services, manufacturing, retail, and not-for-profit sectors, among others.

Previously, Michael was a senior manager in the Accounting and Finance Practice at Clearview Group, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2024.

Prior to Clearview Group, Michael was a corporate controller, first at a petroleum distribution company and then at a cybersecurity company. At both companies, Michael oversaw all aspects of the accounting department and implemented numerous automation and process improvements, including decreasing the month-end close process form 20 to eight days, eliminating the use of spreadsheets to produce financial statements, utilizing the project accounting module to assess profitably by contract, and improving internal controls surrounding the treasury function, general journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.

Before his time as a corporate controller, Michael was an auditor at a global audit and assurance, tax and advisory firm and a Big Four firm where he performed audits and other attestation engagements primarily for federal government entities.
