Gabe H. Shurek is a partner and has over 20 years of experience in the fields of forensic accounting, fraud detection and business valuation. Gabe has been engaged as a financial consultant by attorneys, financial institutions, insurance companies, trustees, receivers, businesses, and individuals to perform services in complex litigation and non-litigation matters. He has managed engagements of various types in federal, state and arbitration settings, including in the areas of ownership disputes, financial damages and lost profits claims, contract disputes, intellectual property disputes, bankruptcy, professional liability claims, estate litigation, marital dissolutions, and gift and estate tax filings.
Gabe is a Certified Public Accountant, and earned certifications in both forensic accounting and business valuation, thus, providing his clients with a versatile professional background suited for commercial litigation assignments. As a result of his diverse background, he has authored and lectured to various professional organizations and government departments on varied business valuation, forensic accounting, and commercial litigation topics. Gabe is approved to accept appointments as an accountant or business appraiser by a receiver or guardian for the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, and Westchester, pursuant to NYS Part 36 of the Rules of the Chief Judge.
Previously, Gabe was a partner and co-practice leader of the Business Valuation and Litigation Services Group, as well as the practice leader of the VRTL Accounting Services and the Financial Assistance Services Groups at Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2023.

Gabe was a contributing author and co-presenter of a forty-hour continuing professional education course, sponsored by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts, concerning data mining techniques and other fraud detection methods. He was also a contributor to the book “Financial Forensics Body of Knowledge”, a comprehensive guide to financial forensics and forensic accounting. Gabe was also named to LIBN's 2023 Who's Who in Forensic Accounting.
