Alex Serrano is the managing partner of Citrin Cooperman’s Livingston, New Jersey office. He is a strategic business consultant and tax advisor, and works with a wide range of industry clients to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.

Alex has spent over 30 years solving the tax planning and strategic problems of both closely held businesses and individuals, including representing their interests before the IRS and the state.  He has been recognized on the ROI-NJ Influencers Power List (Accounting) for 4 consecutive years: 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

As a business consultant, Alex provides innovative advisory solutions for a range of strategic issues relating to structuring, growth, profitability, and tax planning. He is a skilled mergers and acquisitions specialist, and works with clients to examine the business and tax side of proposed deals, in order to gain financial insight and determine a deal's long-term viability. He is also a key advisor to clients regarding their trust, estate, and succession preparation as part of their overall strategic planning.

As the office managing partner, Alex oversees office operations, promoting operational excellence and managing the culture and organizational effectiveness of the New Jersey office. Alex is also a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Alex is fluent in Spanish and helps International Companies and Hispanic Companies expand their businesses in the U.S. Alex is frequently asked to be a featured speaker for industry and firm-sponsored events.
