Provider Relief Fund Update

June 11 Guidance and New Reporting Requirements

By Aaron Cohen, Amber Aubin .

On June 11, 2021, HHS issued updated guidance on Provider Relief Fund (“PRF”) fund use and reporting. While much of the guidance is helpful to providers (including extended periods for use of the funds), some of the new guidance has introduced a degree of additional uncertainty with respect to key elements of PRF use, such as the calculation of lost revenue. Included in the PDF below is a summary of key changes stemming from the June 11th guidance, as well as our thoughts regarding outstanding issues for consideration. As a reminder, any provider who received a payment in excess of $10,000 will be responsible for reporting to the HHS. We recommend providers review the attached summary and ensure they understand their responsibilities related to use and reporting on PRF payments.
