Shawn Henderson is a partner in the firm’s Livingston, NJ office with more than 15 years of experience providing accounting, tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to closely-held businesses and private client service sectors. 

Shawn serves as the Regional Tax Practice Leader for the New Jersey, Philadelphia, DC Metro and Miami offices. He regularly works with team members firmwide to ensure consistency in firm tax processes, procedures, and operations. He is a member of the firm’s tax quality control group and regularly assists with the firm’s internal and external initiatives. Shawn is also the New Jersey liaison for the Real Estate industry practice.

Shawn has extensive industry experience in financial services, real estate, construction, international taxation, retail, manufacturing & distribution, professional services, private equity, and technology and life sciences.

Shawn has assisted numerous clients with federal, state, and international tax compliance, income tax provisions, structuring for transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, federal and state credit studies, and both IRS and state tax controversies. Shawn is known as a trusted advisor who keeps up to date with evolving tax regulations, allowing him to provide timely insights and tax advisory services to his clients. Client service is paramount to Shawn’s success, and he has a passion for leadership and personal development that helps him connect and cultivate relationships with his clients and colleagues.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Shawn was a senior tax manager at a top 20 large regional firm.
