Michael Cannon is a partner in the DC Metro office with thirteen years of accounting experience in the government contracting industry. He specializes in providing audit, consulting, and accounting services to government contractors, non-profit entities, and employee benefit plans including ESOPs.
Michael possesses a working knowledge of federal regulations, including Small Business Administration (SBA), 8(a) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), cost principles, and accounting policies for federal government contractors. In addition, he has experience consulting client management on overhead allocation methods; preparing overhead incurred cost submissions for the Defense Contract Audit Agency (“DCAA”); and assisting with DCAA.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Michael was a manager at a leading accounting and professional services firm. He is knowledgeable of the Internal Revenue Code and Department of Labor regulations declared for employee benefit plans. Michael has provided consultation with various issues such as self-correction submissions with the Internal Revenue Service and recently issued accounting pronouncements effecting the industry.
