Erick Torres, a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Long Island office, has over 15 years of experience providing tax planning and consulting services. As part of the Tax Practice, he advises clients in several industries, including apparel, food services, technology, and manufacturing and distribution. Erick serves as the Regional Tax Practice Leader for the Long Island and California offices, and provides additional oversight for the New York City office.
Erick advises his clients on federal, state, and local tax planning strategies and issue resolution. As a member of the firm’s Corporate & Tax Provision Technical Services group, he is responsible for assuring his client’s Income Tax Provisions are compliant with US GAAP, as interpreted by ASC 740. He also has experience consulting on mergers and acquisitions, partner/shareholder buyouts, and reorganizations.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Erick co-managed the tax operations of a New York-based accounting and consulting firm, where he was active in the firm’s continuing education program.

Outside the Office
First generation and born in Queens, New York, Erick enjoys recreational basketball, traveling the world with his wife, and watching his daughter play basketball. He is also an avid animal lover.
