Atul is a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Forensics, Litigation, and Valuation Services Practice with more than 15 years of extensive experience assisting global financial institutions and their legal counsel in responding to regulatory inquiries, forensic and fraud investigations, and legal and litigation related inquiries.

As an accomplished financial services industry executive, Atul has a proven track record of managing global teams that tackle complex challenges, leading numerous risk and compliance investigations, addressing legal issues across a wide range of matters, and leveraging data and technologies, including artificial intelligence. He has been involved with high-profile matters in the financial services sector, developing advanced analytics to identify and remediate risks, and has directed regulatory remediations for the SEC, OCC, and FINRA, resolving issues such as conflicts of interest, Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI) compliance, and fiduciary breaches.

Atul provides litigation support for class-action lawsuits and fraud investigations, working closely with legal counsel of global financial institutions and responding to complex regulatory inquiries from the CFPB, OCC, and FINRA to address issues like fraud, garnishments, and account closures and deliver necessary remediation strategies. He also has experience presenting to global regulators on behalf of his clients.

Prior to Citrin Cooperman, Atul worked in senior roles in the Forensics and Integrity Services practice at a Big Four firm. Prior to that, he was vice president and strategy leader in the consumer banking line of business at one of the largest global financial institutions.
