Tade R. Akinkugbe, MBA


Tade is a director in the Valuations and Forensics Services Practice with over nine years of experience performing valuation for financial reporting purposes – stock-based compensation, asset impairment testing, complex equity instruments and intangible assets, M&A, and tax purposes.

Tade works with clients in a diverse range of industry verticals, including private equity companies, life sciences and biotechnology, restaurants, software development and licensing, entertainment and sports, third party logistics, and a broad variety of service, manufacturing, and wholesale distribution companies.
She performs engagements in accordance with FASB ASC topics including: ASC 805 (business combinations, ASC 350 & 360 (impairment testing), ASC 718 (equity-based compensation), ASC 820 (fair value measurements), and IRS 409a compliance.
Tade also performs value intangible assets including in-process research and development, brands, intellectual properties, licensing and royalty agreements, customer relationships, software, patents, backlogs, tradenames and trademarks, non-compete agreements, assembled workforce, contingent liabilities, etc., and also assist client in valuation of complex instruments.

Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Tade worked at Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP for a number of years providing valuation and financial advisory services related to mergers and acquisition, target screening, M&A due diligence, business valuation (tangible and intangible assets; and liabilities), spin-off and carve-out, divestitures, corporate finance and strategy, financial reporting, tax planning, stock-based compensation, and asset impairment testing.

Presentation & Publications
Tade has recently published works in Valuation of Intangible Assets - Theory, Inputs and Considerations - New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA).

Tade is a member of the Financial Women’s Association (FWA) and the Emerging Leader’s Committee. She is also a part of Executives on Campus Student Partnership Mentoring Program at Baruch College and the City University of New York (CUNY).

Tade holds a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from Ogun State University. In addition to her Bachelor’s degree, she also has an M.B.A. in Finance from The Gabelli Graduate School of Business, Fordham University. 

Community Involvement
Tade is the founder and president of Hats and Peas, Inc., a charitable organization focused on providing neonatal intensive care units with non-medical materials to support babies in the units.
