Stephen Geremia is a partner in Citrin Cooperman’s Rhode Island office. With over 30 years of accounting experience, he directs audit, attest, and consulting for privately held and public entities. His exceptional expertise extends to the areas of government, manufacturing, distribution, financial services, commercial and subsidized real estate sectors. Steve specializes in the areas of internal audit, internal control (financial and compliance), compliance auditing, and providing forensic and litigation support.
Previously, Steve was a partner and the director of attest services at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016.

Steve has been a lecturer for various industry groups as well as the firm’s continuing professional education program.
Steve is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the National Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the Rhode Island Government Finance Officers Association (RIGFOA) and Leadership Rhode Island (LRI). In addition, he serves the community by his leadership as a member of the board of directors and the finance committee of Save the Bay, Inc.
Education & Licenses
Steve graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from Providence College. He has also satisfied continuing professional education requirements mandated by Government Auditing Standards (also known as The Yellow Book) and has taught government accounting and auditing courses. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Rhode Island.
