Salvatore Leone is an audit and tax partner with over 10 years of experience providing assurance, tax, and advisory services. He has a specialized focus serving clients in the construction industry, as well as closely held and medium-sized businesses in the manufacturing, staffing, wholesale, and distribution industries.
Sal is also the co-chair of the firm's Construction committee. He has a wealth of experience advising clients in the construction sector. With a deep expertise in overall profitability enhancement and job profitability analyses, he provides management with strategies for saving money and boosting efficiency on construction jobs. His expertise extends to areas of expense minimization, reducing tax liabilities, and year-end tax projections and planning. With a long-standing network of contacts, he is also able to help clients with financing and bonding negotiations.
For his corporate clients, Sal provides a combination of technical acumen and insight, taking pride in asking the right questions and responding proactively. He counsels clients on an array of tax and audit services and strategies, such as profit enhancement, understanding financial covenants, and negotiating lines of credit and renewals.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Sal held roles at Weinick Sanders Leventhal, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2005.

Sal is the author of various articles, which have been published in Construction Business Owners Magazine.
As a panelist and featured speaker, his engagements have included the NY/NJ Port Authority and Columbia University’s Construction Certificate/Mentorship Program.
Sal is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is also an active member of the New York Subcontractors Trade Association (STA) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).
Education & Licenses
Sal received his B.S. in Accounting from Hunter College. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York. He is also a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP).
