Ronald Hegt is a tax partner with over 40 years of experience in accounting and taxation. He has managed corporate, partnership and entrepreneurial high net worth individual engagements in both the tax planning and tax compliance arenas.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Ron served as a tax partner at Janover LLC and a Top 10 national CPA firm.
Ron’s area of expertise is in serving as the entrepreneur tax and business adviser to middle market entrepreneurs, their businesses and their families. He works extensively with partnerships, S corporations, estates, trusts and ultra-high net worth individuals in both tax compliance, as well as advising on business acquisitions, dispositions and inter-generational transfers.
Areas of specialty include investment funds, real estate and professional service practices.

His most recent include annual year end and April 15 appearances on Fox News Channel. Ron is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and has held many roles within, including member of the tax division Executive Committee, tax accounting committee, domestic relations task force, national financial literacy commission, and as chair of the individual taxation committee. He is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), and has held many roles within, with the current being a member of the partnership taxation committee. He is also a trustee of the Foundation for Accounting Education Inc.
Education & Licenses
Ron earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of New York.
