Roberta Bernhardt, CPA

Partner

Roberta Bernhardt, a tax partner, has more than 25 years of experience working with individuals and businesses in the areas of tax, accounting, and business consulting. Her clients include national and international commercial and educational internet companies, residential and commercial building owners, and various other businesses and individuals.
 
Roberta has extensive expertise in domestic and international tax issues, and has successfully guided clients through succession, estate, and trust planning, as well as in the divorce process in connection with tax matters.
 
Roberta also advises clients in the real estate industry and is a participant in the firm’s Real Estate Group. Her expertise extends to all tax areas including tax-free exchanges for clients in commercial and residential real estate.
 
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Roberta was the co-managing partner of a Westchester, NY-based firm.
 
Presentations and Publications
Roberta frequently speaks on a variety of tax and accounting topics, including retirement and tax planning. She has lectured to the New York City Bar Association (City Bar), the Westchester County Women’s Bar Association (WWBA), and Westchester Community College’s entrepreneurial program. She was recently named one of Westchester’s Most Influential Women in Westchester Magazine’s “914 Inc.” publication. She was also selected as a representative of successful female executives in the “Women at the Wheel” advisory seminar at Westchester Country Club.
 
Affiliations
Roberta is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). She is the financial advisor to the Doctors Cancer Foundation and has also served on the Board of Directors of Sound Federal Bancorp and the Advisory Board of the Hudson City Savings Bank. She is a member of the Business Council of Westchester County and the Westchester County Association, and is a past president of the NYSSCPA’s Westchester chapter.
 
Education & Licenses
Roberta earned her B.A. in Education and Psychology from Queens College of the City University of New York and her MBA in Accounting from Iona College. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
