Philip Baker is co-managing partner of the firm’s Bethesda office, bringing his vast experience to clients. His specialties include sophisticated tax research, planning, and preparation, estate planning, business planning and consulting, litigation support, and wealth management. Phil also sits on the firm's Executive Committee.
Phil served as co-managing member and tax officer at Regardie, Brooks & Lewis, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2015. He first joined RB&L in 1974 and became an officer in 1978.
He serves a wide variety of privately owned businesses, professional, and individual clients, as well as having managed RB&L’s tax practice.
Presentations and Publications
Washingtonian Magazine recognized Phil as, "...probably the most knowledgeable CPA in town on Federal Taxation." Phil is a frequent speaker and teacher on a variety of tax, financial, and management advisory service issues.
Phil has served as a member of the Internal Revenue Service Forum on Ethics and Professionalism in Tax Administration, a role to promote the working relationship between tax professionals and the IRS. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of a local bank, including chairman of its audit committee, and past chairman of the Tax Committee of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs, and a former member of its Board of Governors.
Education & Licenses
Phil earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Maryland. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Maryland.
