Patricia A. Cummings, CPA
Patricia Cummings is the co-managing partner of the firm’s New York City office. She leads the firm's Capital Markets and Private Equity initiative and serves on the Executive Committee and the Audit and Attest Committee and participates in the leadership of the real estate industry group. She also oversees the firm's marketing activities and focuses on increasing the firm’s presence in the marketplace.
Pat brings a wealth of more than 25 years of experience providing audit, accounting, and business consulting services to public and private multinational clients in a number of industries including private equity, real estate, alternative energy, and technology. Pat’s client service experience includes leading complex engagements and helping clients confront challenging business issues. She has extensive experience in acquisitions, divestitures, capital-raising transactions, including initial public offerings, and complex financial reporting issues. In addition, Pat has experience in the area of bankruptcy accounting and reporting.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Pat spent 17 years with Grant Thornton LLP, most recently as an assistant managing partner of its New York office, where she led audit engagements for global companies and served as the engagement quality review partner for other clients. Pat also previously worked for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and commenced her career in public accounting with a Big Four accounting firm.
Presentations and Publications
Pat is a well-sought-out speaker on accounting and financial reporting issues. Additionally, she has spoken on various topics for Working Mother’s Magazine and for “Women in the Boardroom.” Pat was previously named one of Long Island’s Top 50 most influential women in business by Long Island Business News.
Pat is a member of the AICPA and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). She is currently actively involved at Baruch College with the student mentoring program. Pat is also a member of the AICPA Technical Standards Subcommittee and the AICPA Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee (WIEC) Champions Task Force.
Education & Licenses
Pat received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Long Island University, C.W. Post Center and a Master of Business Administration in General Management from Dowling College. She also completed post-graduate executive education at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kenan-Flagler Business School. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and Connecticut.
