Michael J. Kline, a tax partner, has more than 30 years of experience providing a wide array of tax and consulting services. Leading the Philadelphia office’s tax services group, he serves as an advisor to clients in a range of industries, including health care, manufacturing, distribution, staffing, real estate, and technology. He also heads the firm’s Tax Quality Control Committee.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Michael spent seven years at a Big Four accounting firm.
As a tax specialist with a deep focus in the real estate community and closely held businesses, Michael consults with clients on issues including ownership structure, entity decisions, and multi-state tax and succession planning. He has a wealth of experience dealing with corporate and individual tax issues, as well as matters pertaining to partnerships.
Michael also has a deep expertise representing clients in front of the IRS, as well as state and local government agencies such as the Pennsylvania Board of Appeals, the Pennsylvania Board of Finance and Revenue, and the Philadelphia Tax Review Board.

Michael has contributed as a tax expert to various publications, including the Real Estate Finance Journal, Physicians Digest, and The Legal Intelligencer, and has also appeared in local news programs.
Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and its Tax Division, as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA). He also serves as Treasurer for Quilts for Kids, of which he is also a board member.
Education & Licenses
Michael graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Accounting from Drexel University. He earned his M.S.T. from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Pennsylvania. He is also an adjunct professor at Drexel University and teaches classes on individual and business income taxes.
