Michael Iannuzzi is a partner with more than 10 years of experience providing audit services and business consulting to a wide spectrum of clients. Michael works with companies in a variety of industries, including fitness and athletic centers, children entertainment services such as recreational youth programs and party providers, junk removal companies, distribution and manufacturing facilities, and Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs), most of which are franchisors or multi-unit franchisees.
As a senior member of the firm’s Franchising Practice, he has had the opportunity to work with and advise various franchisors and multi-unit franchisees of different sizes and industries on a number of diverse matters such as franchise performance representations, franchisee unit matrix, Franchise Disclosure Document financial and narrative presentation, advertising fund structure, corporate restructuring, and asset protection. One of Michael's primary responsibilities is managing the domestic audit of one of the largest QSR franchisors in the world.
Michael is also part of the firm’s Corporate Governance division where he advises clients on Sarbanes-Oxley 404 compliance initiatives in a variety of industries such as business development companies, medical device, research, and multi-media companies. During this process, Michael assists various clients with the design and implementation of controls, ensuring that there are strong internal control systems in place.
Michael uses his experience to guide his clients in thinking about the future, with the belief that what may be right today may not be right tomorrow. His consulting and advisory services focus on various areas such as corporate structure and formation, domestic and international strategic planning, tax strategies, cash flow/budgeting, and long-term profitability analysis.
Presentations & Publications
Michael has been a panel speaker for the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce on franchise-related topics. He was also a roundtable facilitator at a past International Franchise Association annual convention and a yearly guest panelist for the Philadelphia Franchise Association. Additionally, Michael co-authored an article entitled, “Royalty Audits: Dirty Word or Holy Grail of Increased Profitability,” published in Franchising World magazine. He has also written alerts on the topics of franchising and auditing. Most recently, he was a guest speaker on AM970 The Answer's Small Business & Franchise Show with Gary Occhiogrosso.
Michael is a member of the International Franchise Association, the International Franchise Professionals Group, the Philadelphia Franchise Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Education & Licenses
Michael graduated from Adelphi University in 2003, magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a minor in Marketing. He is also a Certified Franchise Executive. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
