Michael Forbes, CPA, CFF
Michael Forbes is a director with over 20 years of experience specializing in forensic accounting and litigation support services. He also provides tax and accounting services to high net worth individuals and closely held businesses in an array of industries, including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, and service organizations.
Previously, Michael spent 15 years at the accounting firm Leon M. Reimer & Co., which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2013. Prior to that, he worked for various mid-sized public accounting firms.
Michael brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to forensic and litigation support, including the reconstruction of accounting records and evaluation of internal controls and accounting procedures. He also assists attorneys representing businesses and individuals in criminal tax, civil tax, and civil litigation matters. He is highly skilled in the preparation of special reports, memoranda, and analyses to help attorneys resolve complex litigation matters for their clients.
In the area of personal and business taxation, Michael works with high net worth individuals and their related entities, investment pass-through entities, real estate partnerships, and other individuals and business entities helping to bridge the gap between their personal and business goals.
Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Education & Licenses
Michael earned his B.S. in Accounting from Sacred Heart University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York and Connecticut. He is also certified in Financial Forensics by the AICPA.
