Leon M. Reimer has over four decades of experience as a Certified Public Accountant specializing in tax planning, tax appeals, and litigation support. He has substantial expertise in supervising high level technical tax research, tax planning projects for businesses and high net worth individuals, and representing clients at federal and state tax examinations, tax appeals, and tax settlement conferences. Leon has represented numerous clients in the federal and state Offer in Compromise programs and has filed in excess of 100 federal and state Voluntary Disclosures. He has been a member of the professional team on many of the nation’s most significant, high profile criminal tax cases.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Leon spent 44 years as Managing Partner of Leon M. Reimer & Co., P.C., a mid-sized, full-service firm specializing in tax planning and litigation support services. He began his career on the professional staff at a Big Six accounting firm.
Leon is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). He is also a long-standing member of the national honorary society for accounting professionals, Beta Alpha Psi.
Education & Licenses
Leon received his B.S. in Accounting from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business in 1961. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York since 1964.
