Joseph Sabetta is an audit director in Citrin Cooperman’s Rhode Island office with more than 27 years of experience working with privately owned closely held companies, not-for-profit, and government entities. He currently directs accounting services, auditing, and business consulting for privately-held clients in the fields of manufacturing and distribution, real estate services, and not-for-profit entities.
Previously, Joe was an audit principal at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016. At LGC+D, Joe was a lecturer for the firm’s education program in the areas of accounting and auditing, real estate, and governmental program compliance.
His areas of specialized expertise include affordable housing initiatives; attest services in accordance with Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Rhode Island Housing (RIH), Massachusetts Housing Finance Agency and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority regulations; HUD and RIH cost certifications; tax certifications for tax exempt bond financing; Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) projects; and LIHTC investment projection models. Other areas of concentration include due diligence services for acquisitions; attest services for manufacturing, distribution, and service companies; and serving the needs of commercial industries. Joe’s favorite aspect of his career is interacting with various people at different companies; he enjoys the satisfaction of helping people and businesses alleviate or solve their problems.
Joe is a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants (RISCPA). He is the treasurer of Gateway Realty Corporations (a not-for-profit organization that develops and maintains affordable housing for handicapped individuals), the director of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce, and the director of the Johnston Lions Club.

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bryant College in Rhode Island. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Rhode Island.
