Jeff Slavet, JD, CPA, LLM


Jeffrey Slavet is a tax partner with over 30 years of experience in the areas of international tax and business consulting. He serves numerous middle market companies in a range of industries, including real estate, manufacturing and distribution, medical and dental practices, shipping, and professional service firms, both in the U.S. and internationally. His global roster of clients extends to Europe, Russia, South America, Australia, Africa, and the Middle and Far East.
Previously, Jeff was a partner at Weissbarth, Altman & Slavet LLP, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2006. He also held roles at a Big Four and a Top Six accounting firm.
With extensive knowledge in international tax matters, Jeff’s areas of expertise include tax planning and consulting, management advisory services, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate law. He works closely with his clients to navigate the complexities associated with international tax regulations, as well as structure deals for both U.S.-based and foreign businesses. He also collaborates with his clients’ affiliated firms around the world.
Presentations and Publications
Jeff is regularly tapped to write and speak about international tax, real estate, and business issues to audiences around the globe.  His engagements include lectures for the United Nations, Moore Stephens, JPA International, La Tax Net, and various Chambers of Commerce, among other organizations.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and serves on the Tax Legislation and Policy Committee; he is also an international delegate for the organization. Jeff is also the International Tax Liaison for Moore Stephens International.
Jeff is admitted to the New York and Massachusetts Bars, as well as the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Appeals Court, the U.S. District Court, and the Tax Court Bars. His memberships include the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA), for which he is active in the Taxation Division.
Education & Licenses
Jeff obtained his B.A. in Accounting, J.D., and LL.M. from Boston University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York, Massachusetts, and Florida.
