Heyam Janell is a tax director in Citrin Cooperman’s Rhode Island office with more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. Heyam’s area of special focus is in serving high net worth individuals and their trusts, helping them to reach their financial goals and fulfill their maximum potential.
Previously, Heyam was a tax principal at LGC+D, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 2016. Prior to LGC+D, Heyam held leadership positions at national firms, during which time she received the national Operational Excellence Award in her role as head of tax operations after successfully combining five offices and standardized processes per firm policies.
A knack for looking beyond the here and now and seeing how pieces of both can fit together helps Heyam find the perfect solutions for her clients’ financial puzzles.
Heyam is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Massachusetts Society of CPA’s (MSCPA), and the Rhode Island Society of CPA’s (RISCPA). She is also a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents (NAEA) and the Massachusetts Association of Enrolled Agents (MAEA). Heyam serves on the board for the Bellingham Youth Basketball Association.

Heyam earned a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.S. in Taxation from Northeastern University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Massachusetts and an Enrolled Agent (EA).
