Barbara Lane, CPA, MST
Barbara Lane is a tax partner with over 35 years of experience providing tax compliance, planning, reporting, and representation services. Her clients include trusts and estates, high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, and not-for-profits.
Previously, Barbara worked for Robbins Greene Horowitz Lester & Company, which joined Citrin Cooperman in 1997.
As a tax specialist and leader of the firm’s White Plains tax department, Barbara devotes a substantial amount of her practice to providing clients with expert guidance in the areas of compliance, planning, and trusts and estates. She helps clients grow and preserve their wealth through various tax-efficient strategies, as well as plan for the future through gifting and succession programs.
For her clients in the not-for-profit sector, Barbara brings a wealth of knowledge to the complex tax compliance and reporting guidelines associated with this industry. She works closely with clients to help ensure that they maintain their status and act within regulation.
Presentations and Publications
Barbara is often engaged to lecture, most recently for the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County, among other organizations. She has also led two of the firm’s seminar series for the local community, Driving Your Business.
Barbara is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA), and the Westchester Estate Planning Council. She is also an instructor for the firm’s continuing education program.
Education & Licenses
Barbara graduated Magna Cum Laude from Queens College of the City University of New York with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She earned her M.S. in Taxation from C.W. Post, Long Island University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
