Aaron Cohen, co-leader of Citrin Cooperman’s health care practice, has extensive experience providing financial and tax advisory services to clients in the health care industry. He advises a diverse array of health care organizations, including hospitals, hospices, imaging center, ambulatory surgery centers, and physician practices.
Prior to joining Citrin Cooperman, Aaron served as a principal in the health care consulting practice of a top 20 public accounting firm. Before that, he served as a senior vice president of tax and advisory services at a boutique health care firm and as an associate in the corporate legal department of an international law firm.
Aaron provides advisory services to his clients, including planning, structuring, and executing a diverse array of transactions and affiliations such as mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, physician network consolidations, clinically integrated networks, and debt financings. Additionally, Aaron has extensive experience developing and operationalizing new business ventures, undertaking financial feasibility studies, formulating business plans, providing guidance with respect to business valuations, and advising on obtaining and maintaining tax-exempt status. As part of his practice, Aaron assists hedge funds and private equity funds to evaluate and undertake strategic healthcare investments.

Aaron earned his Bachelor of Arts at University of Pennsylvania, his Masters of Philosophy from Cambridge University, and Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School. He is a member of both New York State Bar Association and District of Columbia Bar.
