HR Generalist

Livingston, NJ; New York, NY

Citrin Cooperman’s HR Team is seeking an HR Generalist for our Livingston, NJ and New York City office locations. We are a growing nationally recognized full-service accounting, tax, and consulting firm. We are ranked the 21st largest accounting firm in the US with over 900 partners and staff and 11 offices. 

Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Work closely with designated Office Managing Partner (s), HR Director and HR team.
  • Advocate for the Staff.
  • Will provide support in all HR areas - HRIS maintenance, employee relations/conflict resolution, New Hire Orientation (including paperwork), employee on-boarding, mentoring program, exit process, recruitment, performance management.
  • Must be able to communicate company policies and practices while advocating both company and employee concerns.
  • Works closely with scheduler in staffing/scheduling accounting and tax engagements with emphasis on managing staff productivity/staff utilization.
  • Basic knowledgeable of US Employment laws (Federal & State).
  • Leads Performance Appraisal Process for assigned office location including increases and promotions.
  • Administration of Mentor Program for assigned office location by working closely with the Managing Partner with mentor assignments and goal tracking.
  • Communicating with payroll on any updates/changes for assigned location (ie new hire information, employee address changes for payroll, staff departure info, etc).
  • Additional HR projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or similar field is required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible and varied HR experience preferably in the public accounting or financial services industry.
  • Professional HR certification is a plus (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, etc)
  • Demonstrates confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced high volume environment with strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Pragmatic, with the ability to devise right-sized solutions to problems, often with incomplete information.
  • Strong results-orientation and sense of urgency; willingness to be hands-on with a "can-do, will-do" attitude.
  • Team Player.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, etc).
